Introducing Hyde Objects
We are excited to share a new chapter in our story with the launch of HydeObjects—an exclusive furniture and product design element within our studio that produces timeless objects for life. These items will be forged and shared through our global network of collaborators and artisans.
Our first offering is a series of limited edition prints designed in collaboration with Tom Pigeon - the talented design collective that makes simple crafted objects for a global audience and enjoys collaborations with the V&A, Barbican, Tate Modern and Team GB.
Why HydeObjects?
For years we have been designing bespoke pieces of furniture for our clients, from tables, beds, side units and door handles. It seemed a natural progression to share these intensely considered objects to a wider audience and extend this process through working with a network of collaborators built up over a decade at Hyde + Hyde.
We sometimes spend hours trying to find that perfect bed that simply hovers in the room. Or a shelf for a shower wall, that is just pure and simple. Many of the objects we looked to source for our houses were over-designed. The idea of HydeObjects is to make things profoundly simple and real. Heavy in the hand and made from the best materials, not the cheapest, with no hidden or celebrated part, just perfectly considered, coherent and effortless.
We found making these objects so appealing we just kept drawing and of course, it's a natural progression of architecture just at a smaller scale. Our design philosophy is holistic and all-encompassing, with a belief that structural and aesthetic concepts do not change as we move from the scale of the ubiquitous door handle to the presence of the column. More importantly, sustainability is woven into the design process and in everything we do as an integrated philosophical and ethical concept.
